Dreaming of Romance

Her name still tortures me in my dreams
Because there’s no cure for her poison
The clock spring cannot be unwound
Nor can the past be erased

The stars forsake their fire when I look to them
For even the gods know I am lost, like their unforked thunder
So they press their sky upon me, like the auras of a deep ocean
Pressing my soul of all its value, until I see myself as I am

I now laugh at all value I once perceived of a human soul
And realise how finite I am, how like a speckle I move
Through the infinite vastness of the Universe

I have awoken, I am erased

Silver of Moonlight

Nobody puts flowers on a forlorn man’s grave
Never a dawn where roses blossom on my tomb
And the undertaker whistles by, six feet above
As I dream tonight on this silver of moonlight

But don’t the raindrops sound so lovely
On a night where the moon is full
As I sink beneath the autumn leaves
Bathing in this silver of moonlight

Footsteps of the dead glide across the gravel
Dancing to a tune of madness and bliss
Crows croak that I must be insane
To forever fall under this silver of moonlight

Hell shrieks for my name below
And heaven sings for my soul above
But no one knows my name

So ever I hide in this silver of moonlight
